The Rangnevis-ha workshop is a creative cultural and artistic program designed for children under 15 and migrant women. It combines storytelling, illustration, and collaborative book creation.

Time: Every Monday, starting 22.9.2025, 10.30-12.00.
Place: Annantalo, Art room 3, Annankatu 30, 00100 Helsinki

During the workshop, short stories from classical Persian literature—such as Kalila and Dimna or Masnavi-e Ma’navi—will be read aloud to participants. The children and women will then illustrate the stories using simple art materials. The final result will be compiled into a collective illustrated book and presented in a final exhibition held at Annantalo.

Program:

  • Introduction & Storytelling: Participant introductions, reading selected story
  • Discussion & Brainstorming: Group discussion on characters and scenes
  • Illustration I: Beginning illustrations using simple techniques
  • Illustration II: Continuing and completing illustrations
  • Book Compilation & Design: Selecting artworks, designing the cover, layout setup
  • Exhibition & Celebration: Final exhibition and distribution of certificates

Our neighbourhood mothers Mozhdeh and Shabnam are looking forward to meeting you and warmly welcome you to Annantalo. The meetings will be held in Farsi and English.
