Women who have moved to Finland bring a wide range of abilities, knowledge, skills, and experiences. This empowers them to support other migrant women and families towards meaningful contribution to the society.

Hello! Have you moved to Finland and want to support those who have only lived here for a short time? Or are you already active in your area but want more information and support to help others? Become a Neighbourhood Mother!

Neighbourhood Mothers training

If your experience of living in Finland could help women who are at the beginning of their integration journey, train to become a Neighbourhood Mother! After the training, you can organise community activities, support women in your area and become part of a great community of Neighbourhood Mothers. There are fun recreational activities, training sessions and an annual wellbeing day for Neighbourhood Mothers. Neighbourhood Mothers are supported by a team of skillfull and friendly coordinators.

Neighbourhood Mothers’ training provides knowledge and skills needed to do peer support, tools for organising activities, tools for helping others and support in identifying their own skills. The training will last 17 hours and will take place over three days.

Trainings in 2025
